will this ECU provide 15whp throughout the whole powerband? or peak hp? how much time will take off the 1/4mile time? I just wanted to know an estimate, and to see if its worth it to spend $600 over getting headers.

It will "add" to the curve so to speak. Yeah it should make decent power, as for the 1/4mile no1 has it yet so we dont know. It should knock off about .2-.3 though. A gain in power combined with more RPM's is a nice combo.

too hard to say exact numbers. Thats like asking how much HP will a header put down before it even comes out.

1/4 mile time is affected by so many things such as track conditions, temperature, etc. Lower ETs = good traction, Higher trap speeds = more power. However, the ECU is designed to take advantage our shift points because the extended rev limiter enables us to rev higher to land the next gear higher into the optimal gear range.

also, I imagine that TS will tune fuel maps and advantage timing providing a smoother "under the curve" power

Is there anything else I need to get when I get the ecu upgrade?

Also, since it will rev up to 7100 rpm vs. stock 6700 rpm, won't that quickly mess up the engine?

fuel cut and rev limiter are extended. Also, its been discussed that the vq30de piston speed at that rpm are not yet "dangerous"

I'm in...

I have a 2000 maxima 5 spd CALI.

Would I need anything else along with the ecu?

Also, I may add additional bolt-ons in the future like, udp, test pipe, and b-pipe. Would the ecu still adapt to it?

I currently have GAB/OSCAI and y-pipe.

Thanks

I'll add you to the list~!

Any bolt on mods EXCEPT headers/cams/FI of some sort will work fine with the "standard" TS program.

Do you have any updates on the ECU? i.e. dyno charts, possible GD price, how long it would take before we can start purchasing it?

Thanks again!

Thanks for confirming. I'd like EVERYBODY too, since it's been so long, who knows if they still have a Max.

Anyways, you'll either A)need to drive to TS or B)get someone that's local with similar mods to drive to TS or C)dyno with A/F monitoring and send TS the dyno. It may take a couple trips back and forth, but they'll dial you in.

*UPDATE*

My ECU had to go back to Techtom of Japan for a problem our Max and the Murano ECUs had where the flash would get corrupted and stop responding.

Anyways, Techtom fixed the ECU, harness, software, and was able to flash my ECU.

Now we're waiting on it to get back to Techno Square USA and testing can begin.

damn this is going to get close... I'm about to get down and dirty trying to get a 96 ECU to work in my 99 so I can get a JWT, but if the TS ECU is all it's cracked up to be it might be an easier route

quick question, as far as the testing is concerned, is technosquare only developing the ecu for a fed spec 5pd?or will their be available for most 3.0's such as cali spec autos, anniversaries, and cali spec 5 spds??

I'm still gonna be down for one as long as gains are worth the wait time and $$$. I have a 2.5" custom mandrell catback, Cattman Ypipe ( HS headers are in the mail) all the cats are no longer there ( cali spec with 3 cats) UDP, Fidanza flywheel, Place Racing CAI, timing advanced on Consult. Car is a Cali spec GXE with no power seats or nothing 5spd 01. I'm pretty good with S-AFCII vs JWT ECU on SR20DETs like my G20 so even the extended redline would help me tune my VQ-K motor. But for 600 bux I wanna see some gains.

The current line up for test cars is a Cali-spec 5sp then a Cali-spec auto Anniversary (mine). Eventually TS will be doing tunes on all specs for the 00-01 cars.

JUST SO EVERYBODY KNOWS...

After seeing how the 2K2+ TechnoSquare ECUs responded to an intake and ESPECIALLY the lack there of, I've convinced Danny@TS to allow the test-car, ie Larry, to dyno tune with his POP charger.

So, when you see the dyno results(SOMEDAY~!), you'll know why the baseline and TS ECU both included an intake. It's not TS fault or TS trying to overinflate the gains, so don't jump to conclusions. It's my opinion that pretty much the MAJORITY of people will have AT LEAST an intake and therefore the ECU "standard" program should account for it, so plan on a cone-filter/adapter or similar intake.

Here is an example of what *COULD* happen with the gains a TS ECU made with and withOUT the intake:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....0&page=1&pp=30 .

I'd rather have the "standard" program account for the intake from the START, so we don't have to worry about losing performance or getting reprogrammed.

i was about to put it on today, but I am missing a screw on the stillen maf adaptor. I will try using one of the stock MAF bolts to see if it works. It will be on by this weekend for sure.

*UPDATE* !!!!!!!!AWESOME NEWS!!!!!!!!! *UPDATE*

Dannys' latest email:
Hey Alex,

Good news, we got our harness back and SUCCESSFULLY Flash your ECU with a modify program. We didn't really know what to change, so we just bump the rev limiter for now, just to see if the program even works. Anyways, it seems to be working normal like the 02 Maximas and 350z, G35s etc.. ..

We're planning on using your ECU to run the test car. We're hoping we won't run into any immobilizer problem, but we won't be able to tell until the car comes in.

Danny.
