Inconsistent Oil Level Dipstick in '02 Max

For the longest time, I have been wondering why people don't complain enough about oil level reading not being consistent on our Maximas. Even after a little warm-up, the oil level comes up all over the range on the oil dipstick with gaps of dry patches in between. How are we to gauge the true level of oil ? How do you guys deal with this annoyance ?

You have to follow the directions in the owners manual and I find it easier to read the back of the dipstick. Let the engine warm up, turn it off and let it sit for 10 minutes and then check oil for the most accurate reading. I've changed oil in a lot of different cars and the maxima is the most difficult I've ever encountered to read the oil dipstick.
