Need help with AGX and GC install

This must have been covered many times, but I couldn't find the answers to some puzzling questions I have by searching. I am going to install them this weekend myself and I want to do it right.

I recently bought this combo from an org member (Polo to be exact). Now for the questions.

1) The rear struts looked a bit odd. There was this convex/concave disk that was butted up against the mount (actually the star shaped rubber piece) and the top coil of the spring was "captured" between this disk and the top perch. Looking at this assembly it looks like I really don't need this disk. So, do I need it? What is the purpose of this disk?

2) All the springs don't seem to be in compression when you install. So theoretically the springs can come loose either from top or bottom perch? Does this happen a lot? I imagine this would happen when you run into a deep pothole of some sort.

3) Is it possible to use the stock dust boots with this set up? I can modifiy it if need be. The springs seem so narrow and don't seem to allow too much space for any kind of dust boots.

4) Last thing. Are the torque rating for the nuts and bolts important? Should I get/rent a torque wrench?

I would also welcome any tips you might have.

Thanks!
