Love my Max, now.........
Hey all.
Havent been on here for awhile. Still loving my Max, it's the best car I have ever bought.
A little off Maxima subject, but I'm looking at this Altima for my girlfreind and was wondering if any of you Nissan freaks
(or mechanics) could help me out. I cant post threads over at Altima.net, and there arent many people over there anyway.
I found a 99 Altima SE here is the ad:
'99 Nissan Altima SE black, 57k mi. 5 spd. sunroof, spoiler, alloys, CD, full pwr. newer tires, 75k mi. wrnty. perfect cond. $7500.
An older guy is selling it, but he bought it used from a dealer
It has cloth interior, which I prefer. This car is in nice condition.
Is there anything I should look out for on this car, beside the obvious carfax, overspray check etc. etc.
I talked to the guy and he said he was very flexible on the price.
I dont know much about 99 Altimas, except that I have read good things about them, and I wanna buy this thing in a hurry.
I'm thinking $6500. yay or nay. What do you think?

Private party value on Kelley blue book is about $8000 not including the warranty. You can probably pick it up for about $6000 - $6,500 because the 5speed makes this car difficult for him to sell to the general public. Also the warranty may expire pretty soon if it is limited to 4 or 5 years.

The guy says the warranty is good until 2005 or 75k whichever is first.
I'm looking at a GXE model too with only 45k on it and the same warranty as the other, and the guy is asking $7,000, but he is negotiable. I am thinking even less for this one than the SE, because it has no spoiler or sunroof. like $5500 to $6000?
