(How to) pay less for service at your dealership!:-)

Hey. we all know how expansive the service is at our dealers. Today i went to do tranny flush an wheel alignment. I paid 60$ for alignemnt and 50 for tranny flush. The regular price i believe is 140$ for alignment and 1xx for a tranny flush.
I am not sure if people aware or not but there are coupons on the nissan website that you can use. I just thought it would be usefull for someone. Coupons are not always available. But.....
I also have coupons for service in Illinois, mail me if you need them.

if your dealer is charging anything close to 100 for an alignment, i would go some place else. my dealer charges 49 for two wheel and 69 for 4 wheel alignment. tranny flush is 89. they will send out coupons from time to time for 10 bucks off a service as well. you did very well for the discounted price you got but those regular prices are crazy.

just took my car in today for the 30K service. I paid $200 for the service plus another $120 for the tranny flush and they are doing two TSB's for me as well (Hesitation and Wind Noise).

200 is alot for an oil change, tire rotation and visually checking all the components. i cannot believe they didnt include the tranny flush with that.

i agree it is, i would have taken it to jiffy lube or somewhere to get the oil change and all but i bought the car used at 21K and i wanted them to do it just to make sure there was nothing else wrong with the car. when i was searching the ORG, people were paying 300+ just for the 30K service.

Since the Maxima is a beam axle design, is a 4 wheel alignment necessary?

Beam or IRS has nothing to do with it.

i also noticed when i went to nissan's site to check out the coupon that the trans job that the original poster had was just a drain and refill. they dont have a coupon listed for the flush which is normally 89 and up around me.

Why would you need a tranny flush at 15k miles? Have you had your car for two years? Do you tow a trailer? Engine oil and filter are needed at your mileage. The rest of the service is mainly inspecting things like belts, hoses, brakes and basically a safety inspection. That's pretty much what the dealer would do if you took the car to them. Look in your Nissan service and maintenance guide for the recommended and required items.

I just got my Pathfinder serviced @ Jiffy Lube. They charged 29.99 for the Tranny Flush. Shop around b4 you got to the dealer for service, even if you have coupons.
