New owner of 02 max, question and pictures
Hello all! I have been reading maxima.org for as long as I can remember now I finally own a Max!!!! I just bought a 2002 6sp! Check out my home page link for some pictures at Car Domain. Couple questions, for Christmas I got the anniversary racing pedals and they are a b*tch to put on. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated!! I can take the stock ones off and put back on in 10seconds but these are a lot harder. Thanks in advance!

I am having a problem with the brake and clutch pedal, I can't seem to get the rubber all the way around the metal. I can get the cover half way on but stretching the rubber is a painful process for my fingers I started from the top and got about half way down the side and when I try to pull it arond the bottom it pulls off the top. Really hard to explain, but since you just did it you might know what I trying to describe.
Thanks,
Jason

Hope that helps.

I boiled one for a little bit 2-3min, I can tell its making it easier but my fingers hurt so much at this point, I am going to wait till tomorrow or next day...Did you notice any discolor on the pedal after boiling? I am not sure if it is from the boiling or something else but it looks like I see a few small marks on it...
Thanks again,
Jason

Oh wait, nevermind, I was thinking of spaghetti, not brake pedals. Sorry.
But seriously, go to a bike shop and buy a couple plastic tire levers....they might help you pry the rubber without damaging it like a screwdriver would...
welcome to the .org

There are other ways to add flavor when boiling brake pedals.....We are not cooking macaroni here......I am especially fond of cinammon, nutmeg, and oregano. Also try a pinch of ground up garlic powder.....scrumptious.

Well maybe it was the yellow rice I added to the water, I heard it would make my car faster and improve response time! I also put some neon food coloring in there so they would glow red in the dark!!!
Thanks for the tip might give that a try see if I can also find some similar items around my apt...you got me thinking now!
Thanks,
Jason
