should these be fixed...
I just have a few questions. my 03se automagic is at 19k miles now.. In the morning when I start the car, when the engine is cranking over it almost sounds like a minor knock/ping and then it's normal... Second is I know our cars are notorious for the rotor warpage and that most people get it done before 19k. Well I haven't and I've tried asking three different dealerships to fix it under warranty and they wont. And how long do the stock blowtenzas last for you guys? Mine right now are drag slicks, will be upgrading to falkens when I have money...
I used 89 octane rating once and everytime i started it in the morning I would get a pinging/knocking noise. I switch back to 91 try that (if you haven't) Dealerships should cover warped rotors under the 3 yr 36k mi warrenty because it is bumper to bumper and it is Nissans fault for warped rotors. My Blowtenzas lasted 21k miles just to let you know
How are you guys only getting 20k miles or so from the crapotentenzas. I've rotated mine 3 times got 21k miles on them and they still have about half tread left. Almost can't wait for them to wear out, but $600-$800 for a new set I CAN wait!
P.S. never had any startup issues with pinging or anything else, always use premium

I, for the first 3 months I owned my car, have been using Regular gas.
Nothing was knocking or pinging but I used 93 or 94 octane since then. (September 02 I think). Once I put in 110 octane at the track.

I contacted Nissan customer service last week. We exchanged a few emails and I'm waiting to hear back from them. I basically asked customer service how Nissan intends to fix my Maxima under warranty (issue was confirmed by a Nissan certified service center).

dude nissan wont fix my rotors. do i have to b!tch and moan or what. I do drive hard so my tires are bald. I do rotate them regularly, so they're all bald. I've never used anything but 91 octane...
new potenzas = not very good
bald potenzas = very dangerous in the rain and snow....get rid of those things!!
As to rotors, I'm waiting for the kit someone on the .org is making to put on the 2k4 maxima rotors!
