Compustar + 2k3 = Auto headlight problem

I just got back from installing my Compustar 2WFMAS remote starter 2 way pager alarm on my 2k3.

For some odd reason, when i shut the door, my headlights don't turn off..

I had it programmed at nissan when i first bought my car to automatically shut off the headlights (when its on the auto position) upon shutting the door so there is no on time..

Help!

How did you get them to program that? I haven't heard of anyone being able to manipulate that time limit. I wish I could get them to make it so one push of unlock does all the doors!! Either way no constructive help here, just interjecting.

Well, the headlight timing is done iwht the CONSULT tool for the 2k2/2k3..

I don't know why this is happening but i am going to get it diagnosed on sat.
But i love my compustar!

You had nissan put in your Compustar? I have a couple of questions then did you get the Compustar through Nissan or did you buy it first? Also how much is it and do you think it's better than the Viper 2 way?

WHOOPS SORRY, misunderstanding..

Nissan reprogram the auto headlight with consult.

I got my alarm installed by somebody else. As for viper.. i dont know, i think Viper is better if not hte best.. but the compustar is superb!!

Very comparable.

Not sure because i didnt install it but it sounds like they diode isolated incorrectly. No way to tell unless you know what to look for and you installed it.

Problem corrected.

Used a relay to pulse the pin to trick the SECU to think that the door was opened and closed..

Problem is, the SECU is not getting the trigger from the door pin because the compustar is taking the first open/close signal (when you get out of the car) away from the secu..

What you need to do is wire a relay up so that the compustar sends a pulse to the relay, which in turn artificially causes the door pin switch to unlatch once more so that the secu gets this signal and shuts down the lights.

In essence, this is the sequence i do..

Come to a stop
Set the compustar to the manual reservation mode
Switch off the key (engine remains running)
Get out of the car, shut the door
Engine shuts down via compustar
Alarlm ARMS the car and locks the door
Pinswitch relay is then pulsed by compustar, and headlights turn off..

HOpe taht helps
