source for replacement foglamps

Looks like my foglamp got hit by a rock on the highway (2003 Max SE)- drivers side lens is shattered. Have been told that the entire foglamp assy must be repl - is it not possible to just replace the lens? Local dealer wants $169 for the assy, junkyards want $100, anybody else had this problem?

From what I have read, you have to replace the entire assembly. I somehow destroyed my passenger foglight lense on the way home after picking up my car after I bought it. Ugh.

Anyway, for the cost of one light, I just opted to replace both of the lights with aftermarket, which gives off much better light anyway.

The Maxima has an odd shaped housing to begin with, so you won't get a true, flush fit with any of the choices for us, but I have no problems dealing with gap there.

I agree with the idea of goin for an aftermarket setup, it puts out way more light. I got mine at walmart and they match my HID's 95% perfectly

I'm in the exact same predicament as the OP (in fact I did a double-take, wondering if I had somehow posted in my sleep). I like the look Sam03 has. What particular aftermarket set-up did you get? Cost? Mounting issues?

I used the Hella Optilux fogs.

Cost?
And with shipping, Its around $55.00. The fogs are noticeably brighter than stock as well.

Mounting issues?
Nothing too terrible, basic nuts and bolts and a drill mounted it in the stock location. I spent probably about 45mins on the entire install.

tx for the feedback!

Hey everybody - thanks for getting back to me so quickly! Hadn't really thought of going "after-market" on this problem but I'm sure going to look into it now!

dont open it reeturn it right away. ive had 3 pairs of those and the color changing rings always ended up working improporly. for example i would put it to green, 1 side would be blue and the other green, or sometimeas all the lights went on at the same time creatingf a rainbow look. so i just use them for the fogs now and not the angel eye.

This why I love maxima.org. I log on to post the same problem and you guys already have an answer for me. I'm only disappointed that I didn't get to laugh in the parts guy's face when he quoted me the replacement price(169?). The cost of a replacement fog on my 93SE was $35 and I thought that was ridiculous.

Those fogs are tight.

Are these plastic or glass lensed fogs? These look great!
