Teins and Illuminas installed

Today, with the help of Jeremy aka Studman, I installed Tein S-tech springs and Tokico Illuminas. To be truthful, Studman did almost all the work and I just helped when he needed it, I did learn a lot, so if there ever is a next time I won't need anybody's help. Anyway, the drop is excellent, the ride is very smooth, in fact I think it rides way better than stock. Best of all the car now corner's like it's on rails. It'll take corner's so much quicker than before it's unbelievable. As for right now the Illuminas are set at (3) all the way around. I'll try and get some picks up this week, but unfortunately I left my camera in Georgia and right now I'm in Florida. Anyway, I defiently recommend this combo to anybody.

Well it'll take it a week to settle down, but the final result should put it at 25.5" all the way around. That's from the ground to the center of the fender.

Steve: They arrived great and in good condition. Thanks for excellent service (again).

All: The drop went well. Since I had already dropped my car, I knew exactly what needed to be done, so all the tools were ready. The drop took about 4 hours with 2 people. We did one wheel at a time, but we did jack the entire front end up at once. This saved us some time moving jack stands and jacks for each wheel.

As far as the difference between the Eibach springs and the TEIN springs, there's not much height difference (when off the car). The noticable difference between the two was the fact that the TEIN springs had 1 extra coil on each spring that the Eibachs didn't have, even though the TEIN springs are a bigger drop. I would assume that this is what helps the TEIN springs to ride better.

As for the ride quality, the TEIN springs and the Tokico Illuminas (set at 3) ride just as well as the TEIN and KYB GR2 combination. We didn't get a chance to fully test out all of the possible adjustments on the Illuminas, but they seem to be a much nicer strut than the Tokico Blues.

This is based upon a comparison of before-and-after on 1BADMAX's car, as well as a comparison of 1BADMAX's car and my car.

Alright Studman, sounds like you've got this process down to a fine science! Now where's the detailed how-to? I assume someone has already posted one...any links guys?

The memory card for 1BADMAX's camera was left in GA where he lives. Unfortunately, I didn't have my digital camera available this weekend either, so I couldn't take step-by-step pictures. I'm hoping that another 5th gen will want to be dropped in my area, so I can complete the write-up for it.
