MAFS Question

How do you clean the MAFS?? Can it be cleaned at all or do I have to buy new ones. If so, How do I clean it? My car is running kinda rough so I'm assuming its cuz of the MAFS

if you want to buy one, i have used one for 34K. no problems whatsoever. broke off one of the bolt holes on the tube and had to order the whole thing. $55 shipped.

there is a cleaner though that you can use for electronics. not sure of the name of it. there was a thread a couple of days ago about it.

You can go to radio shack and buy contact/Control cleaner. that will do the job.

Its not the MAF, dont mess with it. You need a Petrochemical Cleaning. This takes care of the top end of the engine (injectors, intake manifold, TB, etc...). Your car will run like new again afterwards. Take my word from experience, dont play with the MAF unless its already broken. If you need more info, PM me.

dont let the idea of a coil(s) pass by too quickly. it will not always throw a cel and will cause rough idling and surging while driving. 2k are notorious for an extremely high failure rate on the coils. if the cel is on, pull the code and look at the replacement of that item.

I was the one who cleand the MAF not to long ago. My car had a little hesitation when accel and a little small tiny shimmy at times when idle. Those went away when I cleand it. I used the stuff from radio shack but I would probably search for a better "electrical" contact cleaner. Used a Q-tip to realy clean the larger surface of the MAF. But Do this at your own risk.

I think you should clean the injectors instead.
