Alright all you 5th gen GURU's

Just for fun, is there an aftermarket way to make the drivers seat have memory positions? I'd LOVE for my car to have memory seats.

See if you can steal the electronics for seat memory from an SE or GLE. I've got it in my 02 SE

just curious, how much of the position does the memory "remember"? The seats are 8 way, does it remember all the positions instead of just front and back?

it does work. the seat control units are the same for both seats with memory and seats without. the first thing you need to do is buy the seat memory switch. then you must run your own wires from your driver side door panel (4 wires) to the passenger side, behind the glove, where the seat control unit is located, and there should be a empty socket with no plug. what goes in there is the other end of those wires. it's actually pretty simply, just a tad time consuming.

depends on where you're located. i'm in queens NY....i have the switch, i just need to run the wires. i plan on doing this sometime in the next few weeks.i already looked over the whole wiring schematic with DAVEB and he confirmed that the part no's are exactly the same. the only major difference is the actual door panel, as one come with a hole for the seat memory switch and one comes w/out. that can easily be fixed by cutting a hole slightly smaller because the memory switch snaps into place.
