the 5 speed doesnt even have a torque convertor...if you have a 5 speed get a lightweight FW
hey YJ....did you HAVE to get the 2k1 TCM replaced with the 2k? im wondering if thats a big issue or not

hogan you took the words right outta my mouth lol...i goto two right near JFK...one dealer said if the other dealer doesnt give me the warrantied trans he would get me one for 500 lol...sneaky foos...i was thinking if anyone wants to find out what psi boost is safe for the max...they should boost the hell out of it...wait for a cylinder to blow like don said and get a totally new engine here
hey you know i can rebuild my own tranny too....riiiiiighhhhhtttt
Zach, Hogan is right about service depts....I talked to one of the managers today and he helped a guy whos engine blew up from Nitrous retain his warranty....what do you say to that?
maxirma i believe you're talking about the fuel cutoff problem with the max 5 speeds...im not entirely sure if theres a tsb out for that...i think i saw one floating around the boards...run a search for it...i know theres definately a fuel cutoff problem with them...just not sure about the tsb

Anybody know of a good Nissan dealership in the Seattle area for handling the tranny slip problem?
I think mine does a little. The one thing I do know: 1-2 shifts are softer and squishier than they were in my 82 dodge pickup w/ 113K miles.
I'd like a crisp shift.

I read a post about a lag when shifting from 1st to 2nd and didn't see any replys. I have a 2000 GXE auto with a manufacture date of 01/00. When accelarating it lags and shifts rough from 1st to 2nd. The dealer says the computer is working ok. Has anyone else had the problem???
Thanks in advance..

Go to your dealer and tell them that you feel your tranny is not acting as it should. Mention the TSB if you want to and show it to them. Also, do a search in this forum...you will get several links about this problem.

Chris, you make me sick, seriously you do. No Envy, cause its your dough to blow, but definitely slow down on the mods. Your car is becoming a target for some schmuck out there who is gonna take your car. Happened to my Accord, and I thought my car was "un-stealable."
Consider saving up for a "beater" car.
Given the 2002 Maxima Myth's are true, I'm stopping any more mods on my 5th gen, but proceeding with my 4th gen build up. My 4th Gen w/ no bumper, headlamps, and two front seats, destroyed my 5th Gen in an race around the block at the shop. LoL.
-5 gears are better than 4.
