Disconnect the battery again or take it to the dealer.

Wow, can't believe nobody knew this. I found the reset intructions in the manual, just press the up or down button for more then one sec, depending if the sunroof is open or closed.

Push the down button and hold it for a few seconds. It will reset and you will be good to go. It's also listed somewhere in the owners manual.

Edit: I didn't read your last post......

Some of us don't have moonroofs/sunroofs. Maybe you are one of the few that have had that problem. When all else fails, CTFM (consult the freaking manual).

Mine has freaked out several times before. I usually keep pressing buttons and moving the switch back and forth. finally it comes back.

I agree, this sunroof is wierd, sometimes you slide the switch back to open and it doesn't.
Then it's open and you move the switch a couple clicks and sunroof doesn't move until till you move it to close position. Thought about taking in to dealer but probable hear the old " it's operating the way it was designed to " explanation.

Procedure, at least with the 2000-

Make sure the sunroof is closed.
Disconnect battery negative cable. Press brake pedal for a few seconds (mainly to drain residual electrical system capacitance). Wait 5 minutes or so.
Reconnect battery.
Hold the sunroof tilt UP button for 5-10 seconds. It should tilt up when you first hit it, so continue to hold the button for 5-10 seconds when it's up.
Close sunroof, try the slider button. It should work.
