Juiced up one of my Valeo ECE projectors out of curiosity to see the beam pattern they make. I held the projector in my hand, and it is pointed in an upward and left angle on the wall. I amed it like that because that was the only portion of clear wall i could find. Mind you my camera sux as well, but I still think the picture looks good. This is the result.

taino787, just for my clarification, the light output is way better than stock even if the stock ones are fitted with higher performance h4s?

i had super white xenon bulbs on my stock lights since i bougth the car in 2001 and I got used to them..so now everything else seems darker to me. once i upgrade the H3 bulbs on this one might be able to compare better..plus the bulbes that came with the lights are cheap..

My boy bought them for his max and he never change the bulbs on his stocks..he answers yes to your question..the output is better..that is his opinion.

I wont say yes or no until i get the new H3 bulbs..

www.hidtech.com

Its the 1st package on the products page, the ECE set. Id wait til were done though lets see how these turn out 1st. We make some good progress on them last night but still we need more time.

If he held the camera a little higher, the light would have been purple. These things are sweet in person.

HKMax: Patience, were working on it. Its not your normal HID upgrade!

I fogured it would take some time. Keep up the good work. I hope the retrofit isn't too difficult since that's what I'm planning to do.

I salute the pioneers

Yea that is the same thing I have only black. They are nice the problem with them is the paint is a flat black and the housing looks real plasticy with that color. Just an FYI.

question for people that installed these lights. if you take the clips off does the light whiggle around or is it still tight ? i'm having a little trouble getting the light to line up right.

Gettin close to having the Valeos retro fitted in the projector housing. We have the bracket modified and one projector mounted on the passenger side. We gotta make a shield to close up the 1/8th inch gap between the housing and projector. Other than that its just a matter of putting the headlight back together and aiming it. Im soooo excited. Sorry no pics, i dont have the assembly at home.

I did fire up the angel eyes, here is a pic of those. not top notch like the Umnitzas, but they will do for now.

When you install the lights on your car there are those clips on the bottom to hold the light in. When I put the light in it doesn,t fit into that clip it just sits on top of it so I get a big gap between the light and the bumper. I was wondering if I remove those clips will the light flop around in there or will it still fit tight.

I see what you mean. You have an 01 with clips for the 00-01 headlights which are different from the 02-03 clips. If you have an 02 headlight setup or these projectors your going to need 02 headlight clips. You can either go to your local dealer & pick them up or contact DaveB (888-254-6060) and get them from him.

Well, I must say today was interesting. I got the Valeo installed in the headlight, its perfectly lined up and sealed and pretty much ready to go in
The only part of the install I didnt like was smelling dog hair burning
I dont know why that was a part of an HID retrofit, but damnit it was, and that part sucked! anyway...

I fired it up and the beam seems to be pretty much dead on. I got quite a few pics on my digicam, unfortunately the pics dont want to upload so ill get them up later on but I can tell you this much, it looks exactly like it did be4, except the valeo's lense is only 2.5" in diameter compared to the 3" of the ghetto one.

Stay tuned, pics coming soon

Here is one more I 4got to post. Not really the best background but who cares.

I last 3 pics with the projector fired up is outside of the headlight. Those were taken the day be4 I got them into the headlight. I fired them up earlier on today inside the headlight, but didnt have the digi-cam with me so I couldnt take any pics.
Were planning on having just the passenger side in to show off the difference between a 4300K reflector HID compared to a 4300K EuroSpec Valeo Projector. We obviously know which one is going to put out more color & light but were going to snap some pics anyway. I might even get a shot of them compared with my setup of 6500K HID's on all 4. Its obviously going to be a landslide victory for the Valeo as far as light output goes but all it good fun.

Personally, ive wanted to get these in my ride for quite some time but it would make my purchase of the 2K2 headlights w/o purpose. I could get these projector headlight and rig these up but I would have spent $ on the OEM ones for no reason, I could retrofit these into the actual 2K2 headlights, & it will look better considering the OEM headlight is a better build w/o any gaps, ect... but I dont want to risk putting $1K headlights on the line. I would literally have to start digging it apart to get em in and find a shroud to make it all work. Anyway back to the subject at hand.
There isnt any guesstimated finish day for this project, but were moving at a fairly steady pace so hopefully sooner then later we'll have em in.

Oxidizer2k: Thanks, I still kinda wish these were going into the actual 2K2 headlights but there is a risk with that operation. One wrong movment of the hand and 2K2 headlights go down the drain

Patience. I dont have them, George will post them either in a little bit or sometime tomorrow, but just to make things perfectly clear. The Valeo retrofit is DONE a few small things like the high beams, turn signal, ect... are yet to be hooked up but thats the easy stuff. We finished things up as far as the HID's go a little less then 2hrs ago and to say the least they look

We got a comparison pic with the OEM HID compared to the Valeo and honestly, you could barley tell the OEM was even on I think ill let the pictures do the talking, looking directly at them the OEM's seemed brighter considering the Valeo's were Euro spec and didnt bleed and light above the cut-off but on the ground is a day and night difference.

Both projectors in and you can see two diff color bands.

This is a shot of just one projector illuminating the wall.

Here are both projectors on the wall.

Another cool color band shot.

My projectors vs HitmanSE's oem HID with 6000 or 6500k bulbs, not sure which Kelvin rating it is.

Another comparo shot of the projectors vs the oem HID's.

They still need some tweaking as far as alignment goes. They were too high at first and I was lighting up every street sign and tree on my way home, didnt get any high beam flashes from oncoming traffic though.

Those pics came out better then I thought

How'd they look on the drive home? (question answered )

I guess they were still a bit too high its all good, just a twist of the **** and it'll be back down were it should be. Just find a level strip of land about 40ft away. The cutoff at the highest point should be 36" but they still look great.

Btw-My capsules are Catz 6500K
