Spongy brakes....

Really weird, but I was in an accident a few weeks ago and just got my 2k GLE back on Monday. Everything was all good until this morning (Thursday) driving to work and the brakes were really spongy. It's odd because it doesn't happen all the time, pretty intermittantly. Sometimes the pedal goes all the way to the floor and other times it feels firm.

Brake upgrades I have are cross-drilled and slotted rotors, SS brake lines, and motul fluid. I've never had this problem before. Just a little when I first switched over the fluid and that was from air in the lines. I can't understand why this would happen just now? I haven't touched the car since I got it back.

Maybe a small leak somewhere? But the level looks ok. I checked on the way to work and after I got home from work. Same level.

Any thoughts?

air/contaminants/fault in the lines and/or fluid, damaged master cyllinder or pressure uneveness due to who knows what. bring it in for a check.

Damn....thanks I'll check for air in the lines tonight. If it's all good, then I'm taking it in. I wonder if they will be covered under warranty. I have the 100k warranty, but they might not do it because of the SS brake lines.

I would say air in the lines. As heat builds up in the fluid, if there is air you will loose pressure quick. When you had your accident did they have to do anything with the brakes?
