Replacing front speaker

Replacing front speaker
My wife has a 2001 GXE. The right front speaker is blown. I just happen to have a pair of new 6.5" dual-cone speakers sitting around the house so I am going to replace the front OEM speakers with these. However, upon removing the door panel, I realized that the OEM speakers use specialized plugs which of course won't fit my conventional speaker terminals.
Has anyone dealt with this before? I'd appreciate any advice you can give.
Thanks.

I think Circuit City sells those connectors. I know Crutchfield does but you would have to wait for those to come in the mail.
You can always cut the stock connectors off and crimp on the correct ones too.

Did you replace the speaker yet? If not then here's what you do: remove the speaker via 3 screws, un clip the harness. You can use the old speaker as a bracket and use keep the harness. Just cut out the speaker, remove the magnet and cut the plastic supports that hold the magnet.
Clean up any mess left and screw the new speaker into your "custom bracket" and solder the speaker to the leads on the back of the bracket.
