Does replacing the stock intake system to an Injen intake void the original 3 year/36k mile warranty? I recently placed an order for my 2002 Maxima and need to know before I do this since I only have another 4k to go before the original warranty runs out and if it does, I can wait. Thanks, Ed.

It will void the warranty if you put it on, just do what many other of us do, if you have any work that needs to be done that is covered by the warranty , just replace your intake system with the stock system. After the works done on the car, put your intake system back on.Simple as pie!

sorry Rafe,
no it will not void your warranty. If they try to tell you that, it's horse crap. They CANNOT void the warranty. If you find them *****ing, in any respect, go to another dealer. Find a good one. If you had say problems with the MAF,t hey could point fingers, yet if you had a problem with say the leater seats, they have no buisness corelating them.
I have an injen, and a 5 year warranty. The warranty was a waste of money sure, but if i need service, i get service.

Listem to mjg it doesn't void your warranty. I took my car in a few monthe ago to get some regular maintence and I had the Injen intake in my back seat and the service guy asked me if I wanted them to install it for me. I let them and they charged me a fee and they never once said anything about it voiding my warranty.

ultimately, warranty issues are at the dealership's discretion so install aftermarket part's at your own risk. my dealer refused to make TSB clutch repairs until i removed my Tein springs and KYB shock, which costed me $120. in addition i have been told by the service people that they have the option of not upholding my warranty over something so trivial like my injen intake.

NoMotive;
as i said, find a new dealer STAT.
Yes the dealer can be ****, and yes you can take your car to any nissan dealership for warranty work. You are not bounded to your stupid dealer.
Also, you can say this simple question, prove it?
They know nothing, except that they aren't resolved to help you, and would rather make money off you by charging you for parts, and giving you a hard time.
This is not so always, as many people here on the .org have had sucess with dealers, even some going as far as advancing their timing, or installing mods (as said in this thread) or being generally kind.
