How to reset ECU for 2000
I know this has been discussed but I have been told so many diff things...in the FAQ section it says ... "To reset the ECU, simply unplug the battery for at least an hour or so. Then, start up the car and let it idle for a little bit until the engine reaches normal operating temperature. You should reset the ECU after installing new mods such as a Y-pipe"
In the thread posted a few days ago it says to disconnect overnight and there was even some discussion on how a few hours might make a difference...does anybody know for sure this is how you do it and how long to do it for? also supposedly the ecu takes 200-400 miles to fully relearn the habits so ur supposed to drive "like u stole it" for that long ? cuz that seems like a real long way haha...any input would be appreciated.
I have also been told to do it the same way as a 95-99 max which is....
Turn screw clockwise until it won't turn any longer.
Wait 5 seconds
Return screw counter-clockwise until won't turn any longer.
Wait 5 seconds
Turn screw clockwsie again until it won't turn any longer

ECU should be reset now.
The Maxima's ECU is adaptive. It changes to driving styles, weather, etc. It will take 200-400 miles for it to fully relearn all the modifications, driving habits, etc. This ECU Resetting will remove any codes your engine has thrown. Thus, your Check Engine light will go away unless there is still a problem.
