misfiring coil
coils are bad, but not bad enough to pull the codes so dealership would not replace them. So I'm trying to get the ecu to pull a misfiring code (IE bad coil) so the consult II can pull it and show the dealership that the coils are bad. I get some knock and hesitation when driving.
i am not sure if unplugging it will do it for good. it may do it only when unplugged...but if you planning on unplugging it and taking it to the dealer, they will find out. what do the say about the hesitation?? the knocking could be due to gas. try amoco 93. i did that and the pinging and knocking went away. the hesitation though went after changing the coils and MAF...
well, once the code is up, the ecu stores it. The consult II will then be able to pull that code at least to show that there was a misfire. i've only used premium 93 oct gas. so its not the gas causing the knocking.
ya if i were u..under warranty? take 1 coil out ...it might take longer than you expect to get the code..not sure if driving with 5 cylinders is safe for engine also...
once code is in...put the coil back..and stand behind the dood who's scanning the ecu and read what the error says and tell them to fix ur car NOW!
Nissan is pulling a scam with their faulty ignition coils....nissan should suffer for their carelessness and lack of consideration to their customers. Anyone know what happened with that petition?
