Portable DVD player install?

I have the BOSE in my 2000 SE, and I have heard that in order to change anything on the system it all has to be ripped out, because it runs on different ohms. Well, I have decided to leave the BOSE in there because of future resell. But, I really want a dvd player. So I have been thinking of purchasing a portable dvd player and making some kind of stand or something of the sort for it to fit on. Has anyone successfully done this and made it look clean. I dont want it to look ghetto. Any opinions on this would be helpfuil. Thanks in advance!

I wanna do the same thing and I went to a store called Xccessorize near me and they said they would custom make me a stand made out of the same material as the dashboard so it would look factory and it would go right where the clock is...about $150

Wow thats not too bad either. So it would mount in front of the clock? I was looking for something down a little lower, but thats something to think about. Anyone else ever done this?

I was thinking of a gooseneck mount attached to the front passenger seat bolt closest to the center console. The top of the mount would have a small plate for the portable DVD player to sit on.

I wouldn't want the player as high as the clock, since the law can see that, and in many places it is illegal to have video displays in the driver's view. So a mount closer to the passenger side but at the radio or slightly below level would be cool.

I'd do this for either a small portable DVD player or a small notebook computer.

Peace.

How about this:

With some velcro or a slight modification of the stand, it should hold a portable DVD player with no problems.

Peace.
