6 spd lockout problem

The other day I was trying to double clutch into 2nd faster than I normally do, so to do so, I moved the shifter to the left in anticipation for pulling it straight down into 2nd quickly once I had gotten the revs up. Well, for whatever reason, my subconcious decided otherwise. I ended up revving it and then pulling into 2nd w/o the clutch pushed in. To my surprise, the revs dropped a little and then the shifter just popped into 2nd gear. I didn't hear any grinding and for what its worth, the gear change was perfectly smooth. However, I'm paranoid about the synchronizers and confused why the gear lockout didn't prevent this from happening. Can anyone say what happened here and if it is likely I damaged anything internal to the transmission? Any conjecture would be appreciated.

Thanks, Matt

There is no problem. I can shift into any gear without the clutch once the vehicle is moving if I wish to do so. However it isn't healthy for the syncros and takes more time.

Thanks for the replies. I was always under the impression that there was a clutch-shift interlock, but I guess not.

I believe the lockout only works for reverse and possibly 1st gear. I know it does for reverse to keep you from shifting into reverse at highway speeds.
