I was looking at freshalloy.com today and i saw they added an engine VQ30DET that comes in the Gloria/Cedric which is in Japan... It make 280HP and 285 Torque... anyone know about this engine?

What similarities does it have to ours? I know ours in a VQ30DE is it possible to do an engine swap / get that turbo and slap it on ours?

does anyone have any info on this? just would like to know

thanks a lot

Yes its the Turbo version of the VQ30DE. I wish we got this engine. This is talking out of my butt, but I think the engine is powered to the rear wheels. Maybe there is a way to convert like Chrysler did with the 3.2/3.5L from the LH cars to the Prowler

I also thought the engine was RWD, so it would be really hard to swap engines... but if you wanted to swap internals........ hmmmmmm.......

This engine was used on the Japanese Q45 (Cima) so it's a sure bet to be RWD.

The Cima uses the VH45DE: 278hp 292tq

thats the only engine listed for it on freshalloy.com

interesting topic

anyways, the turbo exhaust manifold will not fit on our US VQ30DE motors. the firewall gets in the way. You can use various parts from the VQ30DET motor but as far as a complete swap i dont think its feasible.(not impossible tho)
