Here's the story, I shipped my max from Hawaii to Seattle and tried to take it in for service under warranty. They said that my VIN is not registered in the United States and I needed to call Nissan's 1-800 #. I called and they said they'll take care of it. Well, its been over a month now and I am at 11,000 miles. I kinda wanna get in before my alignment warranty runs out. If any of you have any suggestions let me know.

I'm in Seattle.

Let me know if you need help. Which dealer? Probably the numnuts at Pacific Nissan downtown?

Call the 1800-Nissan-1 # and explain your situation. I mean what could be the problem? You must have a counterfeit Maxima!

Melody's Nissan in Bellevue has been great for me. They replaced my transmission and I bought the car in Dallas.

Hey, why did you need to have your Auto replaced anyway?
The reason I ask is, I think that my Auto might have been replaced before I bought it too.

Thanks

I was recently in Hawaii on vacation (Oahu and the Big Island) and was amazed at the number of Maximas that were being used as rental cars there. I rarely see Maximas used as rental cars in the lower 48.

My first thought was that Nissan was dumping Maximas into the rental market in Hawaii much like GM dumps mid-size Oldsmobiles and Buicks on the rental car companies in the lower 48. I do not know if there is any relevance here - just an observation.

Yeah I know that the rental car companies in Hawaii use them, I used to pass the lot everyday going to work in the summer. I was also in Los Angeles on vacation last summer and saw that they use them there as rentals too.

Hey CIRCO, where did you buy your max from? If it's New City, then I can help you take care of it.

Thanks for the response. I checked to see if my vin # was in the range for the TSB and it isn't. Anyway, my tranny seems to be shifting well anyway.
