Ball Joint Replacement

Has anyone replaced the lower ball joint on a 2001 se? In my haynes manual it says that I have to replace the whole control arm. If I replace the control arm am I going to have to get an alinement?

Not sure if the balljoint is separately replaceable, but I am 100% sure you will need an alignment afterwards...

nissan doesn't sell the ball joint unit by itself. It comes as a set with the control arm. You should call DaveB just to make sure. (888) 254-6060

Before u pay for this, please find out if your car was one of those affected by the lower transverse link recall in which both lower links were replaced free of charge by Nissan.

I've a 2001 SE as well and mine was within the recall list so that I had both of mine replaced under the recall -including ball joints, of course since they are one piece with the transverse link. Your dealer should have the serial numbers affected...
