Pop-up navi in 2000 SE?

How hard to you guys think it would be to rig a built-in pop-up LCD into a 2000 SE? I really want to add some sort of navigation to my car, but i hate the look of those aftermarket Navi systems (i.e magellan), and i wanna keep the car as stock looking inside as possible. I don't want to put in one of those pioneer pop-out screen head units, i would love the ability to hide the LCD when i'm not using it. The Lexus IS300 has the right idea. it pops up and slides back down at the touch a button, so does the g35 and audi a4 i believe. I think they're be room to for it right in front of the digital clock on our dashboards.

Let me know if you know of anyone who has attempted anything remotely similar . p.s. does anyone have pics of those dual halo projectors from ebay on their car? i just wanna see what they look like on a max.

I think I have seen in a European (I think that was polish) magazine picture of 2001 or 2003 Maxima with a Pop-up navi. Navigation system is much more popular over there that's why they install them in almost all the cars.
You would have to look for that part in Europe.

Well the Pioneer and other aftermarket manufacturers that don't offer a horizontal tilt feature power in and out. My 4 year old Alpine has an option to Auto open and close if that would help you. Problem is price. I think the new Alpine is selling for $1399 (normally $1899) but then you must add the DVD Navigation on top of that. Hope that helps you somewhat.

The I35 also has a popup LCD Navi screen as part of its center console. I wonder if that could be transferred to a 5G Maxima.
