Burnt out Tachometer

I have used the search to no avail. I was wondering why my tachometer does not light up anymore? It all started with the odometer not lighting up, then the speedometer, now the speedometer works, but not the tach. I have 56,000 miles on my car. Hardly too many miles. Obviously there is a short somewhere, but where? Anyone have the same experience. I dont want to have to take it to the stealership.

Well, if it is just the light then try checking the fuses under your hood. There is a 10A fuse located in the upper lefthand corner that says 'TAILLIGHTS' on it - it also controls the accessories. You may just have a bad fuse.

Could just be a blown bulb behind the dash. You're going to have to take the whole dash apart in order to replace it.

Actually, there is a total of 5 screws that hold the gauges in the dash. 2 screws that hold the black plastic peice, then 3 that hold the actual guages in the dash. The only real bulb that I found was the bulb that lit the odometer. There were a bunch of wires that were grouped together that ran the two guages. I hope it will ultimately be as simple as a bulb, or a fuse.
