BTW, to those who have done the swap: do you need to heat anything up (sealent or anything) to get the tails off?

Thanks
Okay, I need to figure out my schedule for next month... I'll be in touch with ya over the course of next week... probably by the end of the week. There's someone else in Blacksburg, VA willing to swap with me too, so I'm gonna hafta see which works out better for me.

Mad2kMax,

As for the swap... here's what Hnda Etr posted:

You got to disconnect the bulb harness though... not the bulbs.

the bulbs go with the lenses, so you leave the bulbs in and disconnect the big white plug that the bulb wires run into.

then when you swap, you plug the harness back in...

EASY !!!
No heating or anything involved it seems....

i REALLY like it, goes good with the blacked out tails.
The 2k1 AE came in majestic blue, so you could get the blue color and the black SE tails there.

Thought ETR's got the 3.5 AND the black tails. I'll take that

depending on how warm it is in your area, you may need to warm up the sealant. hnda etr and i just used a hair dryer since we did the swap on a cool night. worked fine.

and yes, i am very very happy with the clear tails. i've got tinted windows and it still blends better than the black tails i had. i'll have to post a pic, tho i don't know if i have an earlier one with the black tails for comparison. the nice thing is that people notice that there's something different, very nicely different about my car, but they can't pinpoint what it is. sutble difference to the unknowing. i like.

Interested in swapping dark tails for chrome

I have a '00 tan SE with dark tails, and would be interested in doing an even swap for chrome tails. Anyone interested??
I agree with ya'll that dark tails look better on dark colored cars, but personally I prefer the chrome look on lighter colored cars, tint or no tint. just my opinion . . . .

I'm about 2.5 hours from BWI, and about an hour or so from Wilmington. Tails are in good condition, no scratches, hazing, etc. Keep me posted, thanks.

Well, I gotta say that you have an advantage right now, being the closest one to me... do ya have any pics of the tails? Post one if ya can, or email it to me at puppetmazta@yahoo.com. Mine are in good condition too... no scratches or anything... can't really tell from the pic, but here they are:

I'm gonna work things out with the other 2 fellas this week and will let ya know by around next weekend... thanks.
