I have a solution for the Bose "tick" problem.

Ok, so after being annoyed with this problem for who knows how long I'm pretty sure I've figured it out. Basically, you need a use a quality CD-R -- closer to the characteristics of a real CD. My Verbatim vinyl CD-Rs never skip or tick. Ever. Meanwhile my other CD-Rs (TDK and Memorex) always skip. Why? Because those CD-Rs have a cheap recording surface compare to an actual CD-R and the Verbatim vinyl CD-R. And by recording surface I'm talking about the actual foil where the info is stored. Also, it helps to have a little extra weight on the CD (which is where the vinyl layer comes in). I just made three burns of the same three mixes I previously had that came out like crap and all three sound perfect.

Something to try.

i use sony cdrs which i thought were quality and it still does that. Usually when theyre just burnt they work fine, so give it a little bit to see if that really fixes it.

Weird. I've used so many different brands without problems I can't believe it.

I've used CompUSA store brand, Maxell, Memorex, etc. without issue.
