Replica '02-'03 HID headlights...where to get them?

I've seen some posts of members that have found replica '02 HID headlights for around $600. Anyone know if those are worth it, or should I go for the real thing (money is an issue). Also, can anyone who has them tell me if they've had good/bad experiences?

Nope, he's talking about these;

And I'd also be interested in knowing how/if these differ from OEM in build quality and such.

I don't think they are replicas. I think they are 2k2-2k3 HID headlights.

They are aftermarket OEM spec replacements. Like bodyshops use to save money, usually close to the real thing jsut not made by nissan. The ballasts I believe are different but that is about all I have found out about them.

I would dig it even more if someone was able to sell me just the housing without any lights or anyything for half that price ! Anyone got some info ? I'm thinking of just sending a MSG to the Ebay seller.

I got mine from Performance_Depot on eBay. They were $598 + shipping and insurance(which the seller requires). They are OEM replica's, not made by Nissan, but by a company called Depot. I had them professionally installed. They are absolutely awesome!! They fit perfectly on my 2000 SE, look just exactly like 02/03 HID's, and they work great!! Incredible brilliant white light, much better than my stock H4 headlights with upgraded bulbs. I can only say, don't waste you money on Nissan HID's at $1400, and stay away from CustomEnterprise/eBay rejector deadlights, ops, i mean projector headlights!! The Performance_Depot lights are great, the seller has a ~99.8% rating on eBay (as well as a power seller). My lights shipped and arrived one day ahead of scheduled due date!! I'm very happy with my HID lights. They were worth every penny.

Shouldn't they have to mention somewhere in the auction, that these are aftermarket replacements, and not OEM? That seems a lil' shady to leave that out...

I have to tell you that I was a little surprized when I received them, as the box said "DEPOT lighting". But, when I opened the box and saw the lights and ballasts, they looked perfect, well made, and a virtual identical copy of the 02/03 HID's from Nissan! And I can tell you that they fit absolutely perfectly in my 2000 SE, no gaps around the bumper at all. So, all and all, a very good
deal on an HID headlight, that I would challenge anyone to tell apart from a factory Nissan HID headlight!!

I'll take some pics once I put my H&R's and Illumina's on, and post 'em up. I can tell you, from comparing them side by side with a 02 Maxima in a parking lot the other day, that the Performance_Depot HID's look IDENTICAL to 02/03 OEM Nissan HID's. The light output is AWESOME!! I just can't say enough good things about these HID's!!

Does anyone know where I can find a write up on installing these lights into a 2000 maxima? I just purchased some from "Depot lighting" out of Florida through Ebay but I can't find any info on wiring. I checked in the "how-to" threads and the ones I found took me to web pages that either moved or were down.

the body shop put in Depot in my accord when I smashed the left side. I will tell that the right side OEM put out more light than the Depot left side. they look the same compare to OEM ,

btw, now it makes me think, would an efforts like Depot's help slow HID theft? Since new ones are about $600 and last time I checked, that's how much people were getting for used ones on ebay...

You'll need the HID wire harness kit from Courtesy Nissan ($34.95), which includes the clips to plug into the HID bulb. Get the lower headlight clips from the dealer ($4.00 for two). The wiring I left to my mechanic, who had it done in no time!! It is not hard, but I am not electrically inclined, so I let him do the work.

I honestly think there's market outside of eBay as well... so I doubt it... as long as there's a demand for HIDs, they will be stolen, regardless of where they're sold.... but this is just my opinion....

Thanks for all the help and clarifications...I'm going to look into getting the replicas from Performance_Depot. Would you send me a message or post pics of the replicas once they are installed Turbo? Thx.
