DTC P1320 coil problem
DTC P1320 coil problem
My 2000 Maxima shows a P1320 code. My mechanic reset it and it reappeared a couple of hundred miles later. I took a look at the related TSB (01-059) but it does not give much info about diagnosing it other than to check the ECCS harness. A friend of mine told me the Nissan manual says there are a couple of reasons for the code, bad harness, bad coil, bad condensor and bad crankshaft position sensor (REF). The car has been running a little poorly as of late so I could believe it is a bad coil, but I do not have any P0300 series codes so I can't isolate the coil, and I don't want to have to replace all 6. BIG BUCK$ ! Does anyone know how to diagnose this so I am not just guessing ?
I had the same problem. P01320 doesn't help much for the do-it-yourselfer. I took it to a local shop and they told me their computer could not identify the specific coil involved and they recommended replacing all 6. They wanted about $900...HELL NO!! So I borke down and took it to the dealer and they identified it as coil #2 and did not recommend replacing all coils. The dealer charged me about $150. Hope this helps.
