Ignition Coils Vs. Spark Plugs
Hm........ I'm reading a lot about the 5th Generation's problems with Ignition Coils, but I was wondering what is the difference between spark plugs and ignition coils. So someone please try answer me, thanks. I have try to find something, but I don't seem to be able find them, thanks, a newbie here. Thanks

The coil is attached to the spark plug and actually makes the plug "spark" at the proper time to ignite the gas / air mixture inside the combustion chamber.
On the 5th gen, the coils are on each individual plug / cylinder where as older cars have a single coil that sparks and runs the impulse down spark plug wires. Its not that simple but this is probably more info than you wanted to know anyway! lol
