Brake pads: Go stock or aftermarket?

Need help on making this descison. Local dealerships in the area want charge $69-89 for brake pads. Should i go aftermarket for this price, or it doesn't matter.

I got the hawk hp pads from pepboys and am quite happy with them on stock freshly turned rotors. It does make more noise than the stock does but the better breaking is worth it for me. Plus my radio is always turned up so I dont hear anything!

i have the hawks too. i put drilled/slotted rotors on at the same time though. (just for looks) the hawks are nice, almost no brake dust at all, which i love. i didnt wash my car for about a week and a half and there was less brake dust on the fronts than the rear. ill keep you posted as to how fast they wear...im sure it will wear faster because of the rotors.

Thanks guys.... but i think i am going to stock. I was going to order the ENDLESS brake pads for $80 bucks, but like the guy told me at Racing zone , unless i have some serious HP under the hood where the best brake pads/ rotors for stopping power would come into play , just stay with stock pads. Plus i fould a dealership in my area that has the stock brakes for 60 bucks, plus i have a 25% off coupon for nissan parts and accesories.

I bought Ceramics from Autozone for 39.99, excellent stopping power, no brake dust, minimal noise.

I had ceramics on my 94. And if anyone knows about Maxima brakes back then, they pumped out a TON of brake dust. Once the cermaics where on, that all went away.
