That's freakin' hilarious only because my DeLorme had the same problem! Why is it that my GPS only screws up in the sewer pits of hell?!?

 

You guys crack me up sometimes. Has anyone ever driven a true luxury or sports car on this board? Just curious, because I don't recall ever getting noticed in my Max, in my Vette's and Benz it was a different story. Just to clarify: Maxima = Well powered family sedan.

 

Only gold-diggers go for vettes or benz's. Real women like real cars. Exampe: if I had a '68 Camaro, I wouldn't have had to wait six weeks to get those panties off! If I drove a benz or vette, she wouldn't even have gotten in.

 

Cuz apparently the teeny tiny street signs didn't register on the maps either. Not to mention, that the state of NJ doesn't like to invest in street lamps.

 

What is "real"? A FWD non IRS car built in 2002 without telescopic steering wheel is "real"? Especially if the car represents the flagship of the company?? Nah, for me a "real" car is RWD, with IRS. Hell even the '02 Altimas had IRS when our '02 Maxes came out. What was Nissan smoking??All the "real" cars out there have this basic "real" car setup. How many "real" cars have non-IRS?? Multi-beam crap by Nissan was a serious cheap way of getting out of IRS. Cheap does not equal "real". Ain't nothin' like a car with fully independent suspension on all corners. Most of us here are enthusiasts, and sometimes I wonder if we mentally block out the structure of the 4th-5th gen. Maximas and keep telling ourselves "no-IRS is cool as long as we don't go over bumps, or we can get a RSB to compensate". Yah, really, on a 25K "sport sedan" (notice Nissan no longer calls the Max a 4DSC) with its non-IRS extremely primitive seup we shouldn't have to do/think like that. With the 6 speed, can one say "torque steer"? Seen our puny little crappy rotors??? FWD sucks, but no IRS really irks me. I'd rather take IRS over heated seats/Xenon etc. anyday. Especially when Nissan took time to put it on the Altimas.

I'm bashing the Maxima bec. the word "real" was used earlier. From a motor enthusiasts' perspective {which means more than just going fast), the Maxima's skeleton structure hardly defines the word "real"

Like someone quoted earlier: Maxima = well powered family sedan. Couple that with a manual transmission, and the awesome engine the Max is legendary for, and its a good car, for the money, it was way better than other cars that were available in the past (except the WRX), but I think "real" from an enthusiasts standpoint is pushing it....

Don't get me wrong - the max is a good bang for your buck well powered family sedan. I bought it because I wanted a well optioned, decent powered sedan that is somewhat reliable for a good price. That is the Maxima. It is used to haul my baby around. But come on folks. If you were me and had a choice of driving a C5 Vette (hold on tight) , a CLK430 (nice luxury ride with decent power), Maxima (decent power, ok ride, big family car), or Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4... which would you drive? Oddly enough, my wife has chose the max as her car of choice, and I mainly drive the Jeep and Benz and leave the Vette for special occasions (like a 75 degree day in springtime - tops off baby)

That being said... I understand everyone doesn't have the choices that I do. But some of the things people say about the Max on this forum, I just don't agree with.

i wish my last girl liked my car like some of yours do, she liked trucks and old school rides, like old school old school from the 50s
