Just got back from the dealer and they said my ignition coils are going bad.. the estimate they gave me was 560 the coils are 63.11 each (378) all and thats like 181 labor

Do these come cheaper, if so where and how hard, or should I try to do it my self

There is a thread somewhere on here on how to do them. It is easy though, although the back three can be tough to get to. All you have to do is pull them out of the socket and change them. Probably a good idea to go ahead and change your spark plugs while you are at it. I just changed mine about a year ago, took about hour and half. The Haynes manuals are helpful too, at autozone.

The trickiest part for me was figuring out how to disconnect the electrical connecter; it's all downhill from there. I agree with puggy20 to go ahead and change the plugs (use antiseize!) while you're in there. While plugs (theoretically) can go 100K miles, they're not a lot of fun to remove after cooking in an engine that long.

man do not worry--the coils are easy to replace--i can do it in like 10 minutes--although i do work for Nissan--i did mine under my extended service contract even though they haven't failed yet--if this dave guy gets them from the dealer than yes by-all means get them--but the ones at the dealer are updated coils-Nissan knew that they were a problem so they had a diff company make them---so if someone sells the new ones go for it--if they are the old ones don't do it

Its one 10mm (or 12?) bolt and a plug.....its simple. DIY and save the labor. Get the parts from dave burnette (~$51 each IIRC)
