Please let us know what do you feel after the changes. Can not wait until monday 10AM. Finaly i found nissan dealer that want 1/2 hour to do this advance timing. Meanwhile i am draining my 89 gas now, and change it to premium by monday morning.

Arnold's car was at -2 corrected, which could've been cause someone had played with it or it was caused by bad gas, and a heavy right foot. Self learn normal 101% B1, 102% B2.
Sammzway, was set at 15 BTDC, adjusted to +2 corrected, and erased his self-learn, seems like when the MAF was dying was running lean, cause self learn compensated 110% B1 108% B2.
NYC TAR needs to use better gas, I think I left yours at +1 corrected.
Blackbird, even after idle volume learn on 00-01s even late prod date 01. cannot go above 18. Corrected may display +3 (from 15 BTDC) I would like to see a CONSULT tape of 18 on a 00-01 w/ 3.0. ASIST spec sheets show 15 BTDC -/+2. 00-01
02-03 I've done 20 BTDC, with HotShot headers, Injen, Greddy, and factory cat, for one of our customers, and passed NYS Emissions testing w/o problems.
My coworkers AE was due for NYSI, and its supercharged, so we thought it would be fun to try one time. Failed first time, and we retarded timing from 15 BTDC to 13 BTDC, played with his SFC Hyper R and it barely passed, obvious short shifting . We had a good laugh at that time. 3.66" pulley, STILLEN Y, custom exhaust.(Richies car, the big Jamaican tech.)

Good points/facts nismo_star...
So, if using my OBD scanner, I see it sometimes 14degrees but most of the time 15degrees, that could mean what? I exclusively run Chevron 91-craptane, so I doubt it's the self learn correction.
Also, 2000 FSM says 15+/-2 is timing spec, but 2001 FSM says 15+/-5, so you're saying there is no way to advance from 18-20 degrees because of the Consult?

when i had access to the consult 2, i wish i knew of a way to print out my change. at the time, i knew the spec and decided to go 18btdc. i did not perform the idle air procedure (because i was unaware of it) and now my timing stays at 18 and rarely dips to 17. if i log it when it is warmer outside then it sits at 17 and sometimes jumps to 18.
