Wont go past 110 - VIAS?????
I was going down Nichols road in Suffolk long island last night and was going at is with a Monte Carlo and my car wouldn’t go past 110 when I first got it, I would see is max out at 140 watts the deal??? the rpm wouldn’t go past like 4 and it wouldn’t shift into its last gear because of the rpm not being high enough imp thinking watt could this bee/?? tranny (allhumdullilah) is fine dealer and Jeff at max tuning said its good. Any thoughts I think its vias, butt when I turn my engine off I hear like a wining or like a small motor noise still turn inside my engine near the throttle body what could this be?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated/

Don't open your VIAS to check whether it is gone bad or not. It consume your time. Simply take off the 2 sensor wiring plug on the bottom of your VIAS, and accelerate your car from 5000-red PRM. After that Plug it again, you did not notice difference, than your VIAS is broken. You WILL notice a HUGE difference.
I got the same problem, aven 0-60 at 8secs range. I can not figure what is wrong, i am pretty sure my VIAS is working properly.

the noise you hear when you turn the car off is the electronic motor mounts. the vias does not open til over 5k so if it is stuck at 4k then you have another issue. if you go WOT in other gears, can you hit above 4k rpms?

Whats wot?? and yea i can go past 4K and the motor mountes do that but it sounds like it come from where the vias is?? another this there is a hissing sound from behind the rear coil packs is my y pipe busted??

sounds like the ecu's kicking in and electronically limiting it at 110. Also, if you're at full throttle, the cars going to keep it in a lower gear as long as possible. If you have a VIAS problem then you'll loose power after 5k.
I highly doubt that its the VAIS...here's a writeup on how to check it.

a busted flex in the y pipe would not limit you to 4k in any gear. i had a leaking precat with my old cattman ypipe and it has nothing to do with top speed. wot-wide open throttle.

Some GXE Automatics with 15" steel wheels where limited to 110MPH.
Maybe your MAF is fubbar, maybe its VIAS related, but its NOT exhaust related. I would inspect your cat thou. I had mine colapse on me and it clogged up the exhaust a little bit. My flex pipe blew out due to a bad cat, I went with a CustomMaxima test pipe after that. Clogged up cat will limit your power. All I know is, my car will peg the speedo :P

does the car still accelerate quickly.. cause how important is past 85 anyways.. cause thats still 10 over the speed limit on any road in florida.. so if the car still has get-up-and-go i wouldnt worry about it..
