4000 RPM question
Tonight I was driving home and it was all open road so I just floored it and as I got to 4000 RPM my car started to bounce and wouldn't really go past 4000. I just had the ignition coils replaced, what else could this be? Thanks in advance.

Maf going bad? I have read that sometimes as the MAF starts to go you'll get poor performace at higher RPMs. Do you still have the original MAF in?
I have a 2000 I30 and when the coils went I also replaced the MAF just for good measure. Car runs like a dream now. Better than when it was new, if you can believe that.
All the pings, hesitation, and "dips" before shifting (Auto) are gone! Also adding the Berk intake and grounding kit from Matt helped.

If you haven't replaced your MAF once already, you have to have the dealership reprogram your ECU to get the fullest out of the new model, which is (at my dealership) about $100 ... so for all of $10-20 more, you get a nissan airfilter and don't have to install it yourself.
