Caught In The Middle Of A Race
#1
So there I am just scooting along the stretch of street where I've had two previous kills, when in my rear-view mirror, I notice this BMW 3-series and Honda Civic racing each other toward me about a block away. I look back again and see that the BMW has pulled ahead. I look forward and see that all lights are clear and no traffic there. He's coming up closer and closer to me, so I decide to go for it.
I hit my stride exactly when he's right next to me, and we go into my favorite curves of that street. Normally, traffic goes between 25MPH to 35MPH through those first two curves, and then even slower for the final curve. Even in my Civic commuter with no traffic, I try to go into them at 40MPH. I just wanted to see if this BMW can run the curves as good as he blew away the Civic on the straight-aways. There I am, taking the curves at 45 to 50MPH...with the BMW falling behind me. What a dink! I knew he didn't have it in him to brave it out. Anyway, I then see traffic ahead and a red light, so I slow it down. The Civic catches back up to the BMW at the light and the two zip off into speedville once again. I just stayed behind to watch them. No need to get into trouble at the busier part of that street.
Guess I just had a case of the 'pick on someone your own size.'
