Springs breaking in?
Do springs "break-in" after installation? I noticed that the Maxspeeds has become more comfortable after the 300 mile mark. Right after installation it felt 10% stiffer than stock but road irregularities were a bit more pronounced.
Now at 500+ miles, other than the stiff jolt when hitting potholes, the ride is as comfortable - if not better - than OEM. Just to be sure that i wasn't imagining it, i compared the ride back-to-back with a non-modified 5.5 gen SE and it's about the same. (Again, until you hit those 'holes.)
It also seems like my OEM struts are getting adjusted to the new springs. The first hundred miles felt "floaty". But now the struts are absorbing and rebounding pretty well.
Have you "dropped" guys experienced the same thing or is this just my imagination?

New springs take about 2 weeks to settle, that seems to be the consensus around here. I doubt it has anything to do with your OEM struts, but I could be wrong. Whatever it is, it sounds about right....

Agreed -- I'd go so far as to believe that they continue to "soften" over time....certainly the struts do.

Well, considering he's on OEM struts, I'd think that the struts are already somewhat used, which leads me to believe that the only cause of his feeling different ride quality would be the springs...
