smooth idle rough acceleration

Hey, searched for this but no luck. I bought a 2K Max a while ago that was involved in an accident (front) I got the car with a broken airbox and very poor acceleration, at first I thought MAF but If rev it from under the hood it sounds like there's a vacuum leak (can't seem to find it). After reading through some of the post I feel it can be a bad coil also is there any way to distinguish which it may be. The car has also been sitting for a while so I thought bad gas.

I left the car running one day for a long time and it looked like it had cleared up but the next day it was back to normal (rough). Mind you I haven't driven the car at all, just in the parking lot.

No ses light on or anything. And it starts right up no prob. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to add pics to the post thanks. If anyone is interested in the progress please let me know I'll send you the snapfish album.

Please help,
Fred

TwoTone... definitely could be a coil pack. Have you tried getting a reading from the 'puter to see if it throws a code for a bad coil pack?

Excuse the ignorance how can I read the computer? I just searched but only came up with how to reset it. You think I can unplug the coil packs one at a time to see if I notice or don't notice a difference in idle roughness (hesitation)

Thanks, Fred

if its a coil then you can unplug one by one until the condition does not change and that is your culprit. to read a cel, you need access to a obd2 diagnostic tool. typically autozone will let you use theirs for free or you could pay a local shop or even purchase your own.
