Question on the SS Valence??

I just got my SS valence grille in. Has anyone else had fitment problems. Well I don't know is its a problem. It seem that the notches cut out to go aginst the little verticle bars are not cut quite in the right place or deep enough. So the grille sits kinda far out leaving a partial gap on the edges.
Do these look normal?

Looks like the only thing you can is cut into it a little so you can slide it back another 1/2". Are those valance grills universal as far as year. Maybe its the wrong one, otherwise just cut it (easy for me to say) yo,did you get the upper grill too?

That's the way mine looked too. And it was made for 00-01 Maxima's. One solution is to dremil notches so that the vertical bars fit into the grill, moving it further back for a better fitment.

Okay I just wanted to make sure I didn't have the wrong year or a defective one. I'll just have to make the necessary changes so it'll fit okay.

^^^ thats what a 2:15 am post looks like,haha :
Nah,i know what you mean though. Its funny, because i got the upper first, but im thinking i know im gonna get the lower real soon, because i dont want one without the other.

Was that you in the my post about the window wind-delfectors,saying you were thinking about copping them. I decided not to do it at this point, 1)for money reasons (i have none), 2)it'll cover the chrome window trim. If that wasnt you, disregard this paragraph

Sorry to bring this back

Hey folks I need some assistance. I attempted to install my valence today, but when I went to take off the clips from underneath they all start breaking. Anyone else have this problem. I guess I'll need to go to nissan and get new clips before doing this install so I can pin the plastic cover back up.

rzarector

after this ill let the thread die,BUT

For anyone undecided about which brand to buy, the less expensive,cut-it-yourself.....or the Street Scenes......Cop the street scenes one

I got the SS grille, installed it(from UPS box... to completion) in about 45 minutes, taking my sweet time. It looks great and im very happy with the decision. Perfect fit for my '01,although i used some wire to tie it up securely rather than the provided clips. It was more money, but worth it,my advice for the undecided in this post, spend the extra money and be happy with the outcome.
