You guys heard about this new ricer movie? I saw it on TV and they were drag racing all these riced up Honda's and RX-7's, tacked on with fiberglass bodykits. Looks like it's a low budget flick...

Ricer Movie? Not quite. Turbos, superchargers, NOS, etc. Last time I checked Supras and RX-7s wern't considered rice. Rice is lots of tacky $hit with no ***** to back it up. This movie is going to be so hot. Street racing forever!!!!

From www.upcomingmovies.com

The Fast & the Furious

Release Date: June 22nd, 2001 (briefly listed as July 13th, 2001; originally scheduled for March 23rd, 2001)

MPAA Rating: PG-13 (for violence, sexual content and language)

Distributor: Universal Pictures

Cast: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Hill Harper, Michelle Rodriguez, BT, Ted Levine, Chad Lindberg, Vyto Ruginis, Ja Rule, Matt Schulze, Johnny Strong, Rick Yune

Director: Rob Cohen (The Skulls, Dragonheart, Daylight, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story)

Composer: BT (Go, Rollerball, Under Suspicion; he also appears in the film)

Screenwriters: Gary Scott Thompson (1992's Split Second; cowriter of Hollow Man), Erik Bergquist (debut), John Pogue (The Skulls, U.S. Marshals; cowriter of Rollerball), David Ayer (cowriter of U-571; he's also got Training Day, S.W.A.T., and The Plague Season coming), Kario Salem (cowriter of The Score)

Official Web Site: http://www.thefastandthefurious.com

Premise: This movie is about street youth gangs in Los Angeles that adapt sports cars into weapons that they race illegally. Two different subplots have been revealed by different sources. One is that there is a Romeo and Juliet story about lovers from different gangs (Cinescape), and the other is that police detectives go undercover to investigate a possible highjacking ring (IMDb). A firmer summary of the premise should be announced soon. Rodriguez plays a gang member; if an anonymous source is correct, Rodriguez may be the "Juliet" of the romantic angle; with her brother being the leader of one of the racing gangs, and her new boyfriend (Diesel) being one of the undercover cops.

I heard there was a nice Maxima at a local NOPI store in Atlanta, supposedly used in the movie. I believe it was stated it was a 4th Gen. That's just what I heard. I never got a chance to go by and see the car personally. I didn't notice the car in the movie website...

Check over in the Southeast forum for more details.

This movie is going to be the $hit. I have been following it for the past year, before it was called "The Fast and The Furious" it was going to be called "REDLINE". I heard there is going to be a 5th gen max in it too. I can't wait to see it.

I think the preview tickets should be reserved for your good Maxima buddies that showed up for the last Arizona Maxima Meet!

sorry to go off topic, kind of but.....

have any of you seen driven??? that's a real good movie even if your not into that kind of racing. there are some sweet scenes in that one, like when they take the cars out in the streets. they go under semi-'s in there too.
