Bad cat can be caused by a bad MAF or bad coils. So, these codes are at times hard to pinpoint.

So essentially I may replace the MAF only to keep working my way down to the pre-Cat then to the other Cats?

Man this is a Big SUCK!

Well, I'd say MAF fist since it is the cheapest and easiest to replace.

I am going to do the MAF. The best price i found in town was 104 bucks. Is that a good price? This is for a stock unit.

Thanks Everyone.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

replaced the MAF.....guess what it's BACKKKKK

what the Fudge.

also noticed that the Intake Aircontrol IAC which at idle should be 9-15 is at 23-26 on mine? Does this indicate anything else?

and
EGR should be at 2.5v when warm and idling and mine is at 1.34v and never seemed to change with throttle/RPM, not sure if it should...

Help Please.... AND a big thanks for all the help and anything else you can add.

Starting to hate the Max......

Maybe you need to get an ECU reflash to match the new MAF.

I have read both ways about the reprogram of ECU after a new MAF.

Is it normal that a reprogramming is needed?

Or is it normal that you should be able to plug in the new MAF and go?

One thing is for sure the car really does have it's power back with the new coils--plugs and MAF.

How much does a dealer charge to reprogram the ECU? I know it will vary but kind of looking for a range so I know if the Dealer is trying to charge too much.

Thanks everyone..

Only if symptoms still persist.

If all is fine, then, no, there is no reason.

Check into your IACV before going for the reflash.
