in a way yes. You splice into the wires that go to the bulb, the original wiring. Most just use a T-tap that can be removed and returned to stock.

So for your tail/stop light.. there is only one bulb.. correct? So when your parking lights/headlights are on, its not too bright... and then when you brake, its as bright as the bulb can be... are these LED's the same if you were to replace those bulbs?
