installing STS

I was wondering about how long it takes to install an STS. (im looking into buying a B&M one) Does the install need air tools, how long, etc? If i get it done at a garage, how much would it cost. I dont have access to air tools, so can i still do it myself? Thanks.

well, depends on what other mods/replacements you have had to do. you will need to remove the cat and the heat shields around it, that can be next to impossible if the bolts are all rusted like mine were, ineed to go to a muffler shop and have them take of the old bolts and put on new ones, then you will have to loosen some more bolts that hold the tranny linkage to the shifter. those will probably be rusted so penetrating oil and some patients will get them loose

it took me all day to get remove shifter linkage from the bushing when i replaced my bushing

There is a .pdf file of install directions on B&M's webpage for your specific STS.

I searched their site but couldnt find directions for a Maxima shifter...

Also, the bolts being rusted is what I was worried about. Anyone know how much time it should to take to do the install with air tools (if i just get the whole job done at a garage) What would the approximate cost be?
