Imagine someone sticking their head in your car to see if you have a "boost" gauge, this would come in handy! But for real, is this real?

first glass would shatter at those speeds also car can provide power to supply that kind of voltage for the motor it would take to move something like that

It might be fake, but your reasoning is wrong. It takes quite a lot of force to break automotive glass. Also, why couldn't your car provide that kind of power? People run thousand plus watt amplifiers in their cars with the right equipment, plus power windows, door locks, headlights etc.

umm, our hid lights are much higher voltage than 12v dc. the ballast transforms electricity.

yeah good point, not to mention low voltage with high current will accomplish the same thing as high voltage with low current... that what any transformer does

hell yea thats fake, you can tell its been edited

sped up when the window goes up or down, then slowed down to real time when it is stopped, otherwise if this were real, somethin would break

you have to watch the guy in the car. you can see his head moving at normal speeds when the window is going up or down.

What about if you used something like a accuator instead of a motor? I'm sure it wouldn't be safe though.

you cant tell hes moving when the window is moving, theres no window sound, you cant hear him talking, some 'noise' has been dubbed in wiht the video

aaaand if you know how power windows work, you know that some pretty extensive modification would be required to pull that off...

since wattage(power cosumed) is equal to voltage(velocity) multiplied by amperage(charge), you can attain the same ammount of power consumed whether you jump up the amperage and turn down the voltage or vice versa, its basically a ratio.
though he is somewhat correct in his statement, his application is incorrect. only ac can be stepped up, so if you were to use a step up transformer, you must use an inverter first, as well as an ac motor. you would lose alot of power in the inversion and transformation, but ac motors operate at higher speeds than their dc brothers, so in the end ac makes the most sense.
I dont feel like getting into the physics of it, but the forces exerted on the window, door, and window frame are alot more than you realize, I could def see it cracking and shattering the glass or atleast breaking all the plastic crap in there. In order to over come gravity you need 32ft/s^2 * weight of window, and to move something like that in an ESTIMATED .1 second / ft would expend a relatively great amount of force.
Video edited IMO
Definitely cool lookin though

thats a good thought, i think if it is real, that would def be the best way to do it, since your actuator will act as your propelling and your braking force.

k2a2b - i'm an electrical engineering major at school, i knew that, but thanks! haha i doubted that the person who said that in the first place had any idea what they were talking about.

voltage is charge and amperage is velocity... actually, its the amount of flow, since its all the same speed anyway

but good call on the rest of it... i highly doubt theres ac voltage of any kind to run a motor like that inside the car, the wiring and shielding required is more difficult than most would think as well as the cost of drivers and hardware...

an actuator would break the window, unless it was on a spring, and i dont see the springing effect. hes also real still as the window drops.
