gettin' back into the max game

Wats up everyone, havn't really posted since i sold my max. Ive been saving and looking for cars since and i just cant even pretend to want anything else, i need another max preferably 5th gen, anyone selling hit me up, But my real question is should i look for anything when checking out used max's? I cant afford the 3.5 so im looking for things specific to the 3.0. I had tranny problems with my old 5 speed. Leaking drive shaft seals, worn synchros, squealing clutch pedal upon depression, and ALOT of suspension noise when wet outside etc. Any help would be much appreciated. thanks guys.

Agreed. The price difference is very worth it IMO. Bigger engine, HID's etc.

Based on the car he is selling, I suspect when he says he can't afford a 5.5 Gen he truly means it!

yes exactly, my accord is not going to get me more than 1500. I have seen some 5.5 for around 12-17k but the cheaper ones have 100,000 and up on the odo. HID's arn't a problem i could always mod that but how much more powerful is the 3.5, i used to woop *** with my 3.0 five speed.

ive got a 2000 se, my mom has an 03 se and my dad has an 05 se. the diff between the engines is very noticeable. the 3.5's almost sound "electric" (as ive always described them that way) to me compared to my 3.0 which age can be heard. the 3.5's are definately noticeably faster, specifically in the torque area. has enough speed to make you lay off the throttle thru twisties. imo, spending the extra on the 3.5 is def worth it, hid's are standard and with the front grille, the car just simply looks a lot nicer than the 3.0's. just my .02 tho

yea once in a while i see 2k's for under 10 but the 5.5's are almost impossible to get under 12k. when i bought my 96 se 5spd all options, black on black with 67k i paid 5700 in 2002. so im waiting for a good deal and definately not auto.

I would just be patient and get the exact car that you want. If you can’t afford it now, wait and save up till you can afford it. The last think you want is to be driving around in a 5th gen when you really wanted a 5.5gen, or whatever the case may be.

I made the mistake of settling for a Spec-V when I really wanted a Max. I regretted it. So if you want a 5th gen wait for the right one to come around.
