Helios mini Install

Just received my kit from Maximabest. Does anyone have picts or ideas for the fog light install? The kit is suppose to be Plun-n-Play, but I believe that would require leaving the protective cap off, which I don't want to do. I hate to have to cut and remove the OEM wires, but.....

Thanks

What do the instructions say? There should just be a wiring harness on the ballast which will plug right into the OEM harness.

Correct

But I am referring to the bulb side. Is it necessary to modify the back of the Fog housing?

In instances of a full size bulb, the fog light housing does need some minor modification...however, your title leads me to believe that you have a 'mini' bulb?

I actually cut and soldered the wires back together and used the factory dust cap with no modifications to the cap. All stays dry with no problems

Here are a couple of pics of where I mounted the ballast and ignitor behind the front bumper. I also had to cut the wires to keep the protective cap.

Thanks. I've seen your pics. Nice!! Do you have any pics of the protective cap with the new wires run through it?

I wish I would have looked at your pics more closely. I didn't want to mount anything to the bumper. The wife has screwd it up an it needs replaced. So I mounted the 2 boxes to eachother then mounted the AL frame to the lower tow hook by one of the mounting bolts. Not as nice as yours, but functional.

For the Fog Dust cap. I ended up removing the OEM wires and rubber plug and fishing the Helios wires out that hole and siliconing the hole up. Not the best solution, but fool proof.

The final result is the Fogs are georgeous!! But they do not match the factory headlight HIDs. Maybe I will buy new Bulbs in the future for them to match.

Thanks!!

Yeah that "plug and play" is a load of crap. Anytime cutting and soldering is required, the kit is not "plug and play."
