Left Hid Problem

I have aftermarket HID's they are 6000ks. Here is my problem, when I turn them on, the left HID goes off, so I turn it off, then turn it back on..it stays on for like 10 seconds and then goes off, then I turn it off..i leave it off for five seconds then I turn it on again...it then stays on..then it goes off again..i repeat this until it finally stays lit up. I do probably on the average like 15 repititions of this. This just started not long ago....does anyone know what can be? is it the bulb? or the harness??

Is the output a orange to reddish color? That is sign that it's a dying bulb. It might also be your ballast going bad.

I got my ballasts for a $115 shipped, might find one cheaper somewhere else, but that does sound like what is happening.

Check the voltage going across all three wires going to the bulb harness. Voltage should be steady around 12V or more. If it remains steady, then something is wrong with the bulb, most probably. Take the bulb out and check the ground inside the light housing (the metal base and clip holding the bulb in). Sometimes if the bulb isn't "seated" right with the clip and metal base, you lose the ground. This happened to me once. I ended up buying a new bulb for nothing, and find out the metal base wasn't making a good ground connection.

I had the same problem as you with bulb going on and off and finally i went out in smoke with the igniter inside the hid headlight. It's a light black box the ballast was fine when swapped backed to oem bulbs. Try swaping the bulbs around and see if that helps then you will know you got a bad ballast.
